Jim Murray – Our Whisky Expert

Recognised as the doyen of whisky writing, Jim Murray has sold in excess of half a million books on the subject of whisky around the world. A journalist and author for almost 40 years, Jim left a career in Fleet Street in 1992 to become the world’s first full-time whisky writer. Now, nearly two decades later, he is believed to have visited more distilleries globally than any other living person.

Jim, who is a familiar face on TV and radio around the world, is the author of many books on whisky and is the creator of the iconic Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible. This is an independent compact guide to every whisky that Jim and his team are able to source from the worldwide market, with each being tasted by Jim alone and scored for nose, taste, finish and balance.

When not writing the Whisky Bible, Jim travels the globe seeking out new distilleries and the whiskies they make. He also works as a consultant blender on whisky and rum and is currently writing a number of new books on whisky, to be published later this year and next.
