DAYS 3 & 4 - LOWELL

DAYS 1 & 2 - BOSTON

O ur journey over the pond to Boston was efficient and pleasant- a good film, a bit of stitching and in no time we were settled in at our hotel. Boston did not fail to delight everyone, the historic district, downtown and Boston common were all within walking distance ready for discovering. Our bus tour and guide (who had a lovely Irish lilt) were brilliant. We stopped by the statue of Wendell Phillips, champion of the slave, and then to the Harriet Tubman square. I found revisiting this statue very emotional, I have been telling Harriet's story in the form of a quilt for over ten years so it's very dear to my heart. We happened upon the caretaker of this square and he filled us in on the statue and area which was an added bonus! Continue reading →
