Bridge at the Paradise Park Hotel, Tenerife
Join us at our winter sun bridge venue in Los Cristianos, the popular 4-star Paradise Park Hotel. Set along the sunny south side of the island of Tenerife, the hotel is beautifully set around palm-fringed pools and gardens, boasting no less than five swimming pools. Enjoy fabulous panoramic views of the coastline and Mount Teide from the adult-only rooftop pool, with its Jacuzzis and spacious sunbathing area. The hotel spa is very highly rated and offers a range of massages and treatments, sauna, steam room and Turkish bath (extra charges apply).
Although the Paradise Park Hotel is positioned on a small hill, a regular, complimentary shuttle bus runs to the beach and resort centre, which is 1.2km away, and there is a shopping centre and wide choice of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The hotel itself is also compact and very easy to navigate, as all our bedrooms, the bridge room, restaurant, and main bars are within the same block and accessible by lifts. The hotel has welcomed bridge groups from overseas for many years and facilitates the groups requirements very well.
This all-inclusive package includes buffet-style meals, snacks at selected times, and local wine, beer, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks for up to 12 hours each day. Players can enjoy a social get together in the spacious lounge after evening bridge and discuss the hands played over a few drinks.
Los Cristianos is an attractive resort, with an abundance of tourist facilities, a lively marina and shore-front restaurants. Not to be missed is the local market which takes place every Tuesday and Sunday morning behind Los Tarajales Beach. The long, level seafront promenade will take you into neighbouring Playa de las Americas for some more serious shopping, and the nearby bus station gives you the opportunity to travel all over Tenerife. Explore the different scenery from the dark, volcanic south to the lush green scenery and botanic gardens in the north.

Colin Simcox
Colin Simcox is an EBU Panel Director who can be seen at many events, especially across the West Country and Wales. He was fortunate to learn bridge whilst at school, now some 40 years ago. Colin has been playing regularly ever since and has represented Somerset in the Tollemache Cup on many occasions, as well as the Corwen Trophy and Pachabo. A former Space Planning manager, he is now retired and enjoys travelling to warmer climates with his wife Marilyn in their trusty motorhome.
James and Jane Tullett
James has been playing bridge for over 30 years and is regularly picked for his county. He also enjoys playing in congresses around the country (when his less competitive wife Jane lets him!) James has run his own furnishing business for over 30 years from his base in Norfolk and recently, with his good friend and fellow First for Bridge host, John Barker, has established the Norfolk Bridge Academy. Between them, they have over 100 pupils learning to play and enjoying the wonderful game of bridge.
Jane has worked as a manager for over 12 years at her local university and then the NHS. She brings her organisational and interpersonal skills to the forefront to make an excellent hosting team with her husband James.
Jane and James have travelled extensively in recent years to explore exotic parts of the world, such as Peru, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. They both enjoy meeting new people, with the emphasis on fun and laughter, which may possibly include a drink or two.

Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.
Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.
Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams.
Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.
During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.
When you are not in the bridge room, you can enjoy the extensive facilities the Paradise Park has to offer and take the opportunity to get out and explore this delightful island in the shadow of Mount Teide. Get a taste of the real Tenerife when you explore the north with its colourful, colonial towns and lush landscape.
Getting around the island is easy. The local bus station is not far from your hotel, frequent buses run all over the island, and taxis are inexpensive. Walkers will enjoy the the level seafront promenade that links Los Cristianos to Playa de las Americas, where you can indulge in some serious shopping.

Paradise Park Hotel
The Paradise Park Hotel is well located in Los Cristianos, close to many shops, restaurants, and tourist facilities. The hotel is on a small hill with panoramic views of the coastline and Mount Teide. It is a 15-minute walk to Playa de las Vistas Beach, but the hotel runs a very regular shuttle bus that will save you the leg work! The hotel is beautifully set in huge gardens, with roof top terraces, amongst 5 swimming pools and 4 Jacuzzis. Step inside the hotel and you will find an attractive atrium abundant with plants and flowers, and there is a fabulous roof top bar and restaurant and sunbathing area.
