This August why not join us on a visit to Bad Nauheim in Germany where Elvis lived whilst stationed at the US Army Base in nearby Friedberg.

The only time Elvis visited Europe was during his time on active duty in the U.S. Army from 1958 – 1960. He arrived via a troop ship at the port of Bremerhaven, Germany, and was then transported to the Army base at Friedberg near Frankfurt, where he served in 3rd. Armored Division “Spearheads.”

Elvis was assigned to the Ray Kaserne Barracks, but as soon as his father Vernon Presley and his Grandmother Minnie Mae Presley arrived he was granted permission to live off base. Each August the local Elvis Fan Club in association with the Bad Nauheim Tourist Office put on a great Festival in his honour. It features fan get-togethers, concerts, Cadillac and Harley parades and the atmosphere is fantastic.

Bad Nauheim itself is a lovely spa town set in the heart of the German countryside and those UK fans that visited there as part of the Luxembourg Tour in 2008 were mightily impressed by the amount of Elvis sights there.
