Festival of Quilts, Calgary, Canada

£2795 per person (twin share) £2999 (single)
Combine the largest outdoor quilt show in Western Canada with the opportunity to explore some of this beautiful country’s most breathtaking scenery – all in the hands of renowned quilting experts Karin Hellaby and Anne Dale.
The tour starts off in vibrant Vancouver on Canada’s Pacific coast with its mix of dramatic mountain backdrop, appealing waterfront and modern cosmopolitan core. After Vancouver it’s off to the friendly rodeo city of Calgary, via one of the most spectacular railway journeys on the planet aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. Retrace the steps of the 19th century explorers as you forge eastwards through the magnificent snow-topped Rocky Mountains, past glaciers and through towering canyons on what National Geographic magazine has called one of the ‘world’s greatest trips’.
In Calgary, after getting to know the sights, the focus switches to quilting and the chance to pick up some new techniques at Anne Dale’s unique quilting emporium, My Sewing Room. Then it’s a two-day extravaganza of quilting at the annual festival held at Heritage Park, where over 800 fabulous works are displayed outside in a dazzling blaze of colour.
After a last morning quilting at My Sewing Room you will fly home from Calgary, bringing to an end a tour that promises quilters with a taste for adventure a truly memorable experience.
