If you’re the kind of quilter who also has a love of elegant architecture, fine art and good food, then this is the holiday for you. Split between the stunning twin centres of Venice and Padua, on this tour you’ll get the chance both to improve your quilting technique under the experienced eye of Karin Hellaby, and savour some magnificent sights.
Gorgeous Venice, with its captivating network of historic bridges and canals, is the starting point for your Italian adventure. You’ll be guided around all the major landmarks, including iconic St Mark’s Square, but will also discover some of the lesser known ones – specifically the lagoon islands of Murano and Burano, with their long-held traditions of glass and lace making.
Ancient Padua comes next, where as well as exploring its arcaded streets and grand piazzas, and admiring Giotto’s famous Renaissance frescoes, you’ll enjoy four days of quilting workshops. With Karin Hellaby’s expert guidance you’ll either work on your own existing projects, or start new ones, making this tour the perfect blend of quilting and culture.
