Today we have included an Elvis Experience Ticket allowing you to take a tour of Graceland as well as Elvis’ aircrafts, the automobile museum, the entertainer career museum, Elvis discover exhibits and of course full access to the all new Elvis Presley Memphis entertainment complex.
Join Essential Elvis UK for a special and unique evening at the former home of Elvis' father on Dolan Drive. This will be a chance to enjoy some time at a private residence that Elvis himself often frequented. Enjoy some incredible artifacts on display and meet several very special guests - Elvis' closest friends and members of his inner-circle will be present.
A full day's guided tour of Elvis’ Memphis – showing you many of the major sights of the city plus places of particular interest to Elvis fans including where he lived, where he went to school, where he performed and lots more besides.
We are delighted to have the opportunity, through Essential Elvis UK, to invite some special guests to accompany us on this tour. Along for the ride will be Elvis' close confidante and private nurse, Tish Henley and his 1975 girlfriend, JoCathy Brownlee. Both these ladies have many first-hand accounts of cruising around the city with the King. Hear their stories and see the places where it all happened.
Elvis / Memphis historians, including Andrew Hearn (author of the guidebook 'Follow Me To Tennessee', will be on hand to help you get the most of this detailed tour.
The day includes lunch at Colettas, one of Elvis' favourite restaurants, where we have arranged for you to sample some of the dishes he loved, including the world famous barbecue pizza. And, if we are lucky, Jerry Coletta himself will be on hand to tell us about the times he served their most famous customer.
We've put on an optional Riverboat trip along the mighty Mississippi with 3 of Elvis' former '70s girlfriends: Diana Goodman, Mindi Miller and Ann Pennington. Essential Elvis UK have invited these beautiful ladies to meet us and join in the fun.
This morning we will visit the legendary Sun Studio and Lauderdale Courts.
We will offer a light buffet and refreshments at the Dolan Drive house where you can meet with some big names in the Elvis world. Courtesy of Essential Elvis UK, this will be another super opportunity to mingle with those who really knew Elvis. We have invited Red West and his wife Pat (who worked as Elvis' secretary answering fan mail at Graceland for many years) to join us. Also Elvis' close friend and Shelby County Sheriff / Mayor, Bill Morris will be on hand to make this afternoon particularly memorable.
This evening, we take part in the Candlelight vigil.
A visit to Elvis' Circle G Ranch in Walls, Mississippi. Hopefully we'll be able to gain access to the land, tour the cottage and even barbeque – subject to progress on the restoration programme. What is guaranteed is a look at the property and the iconic, white bridge that Elvis and Priscilla loved so much.
On the way back we will make a stop at Graceland for those who'd like to see more of the mansion, attractions and gift shops.
This afternoon there will be an optional shopping trip to Hickory Ridge.
For those still wishing to continue the Elvis trail we will be offering a walking tour of downtown to see more places that played a part in the Rock 'n' Roll story. The Elvis statue on Beale Street and a bite to eat in another favourite restaurant, the Arcade, will be fun and slow-paced.
Evening time. Fancy a few cocktails at the cool Peabody bar, then some of the world's greatest barbecue ribs at the Rendezvous? Perhaps a few more impressive guests may join us to remember Elvis respectfully during this special date on the calendar.
First on the agenda is a tour of the Elvis sights of Tupelo – the town (now a city – albeit a small one!) where Elvis was born and lived until he was 13 years old. We’ll see the schools that he attended, Tupelo Hardware where his mother Gladys purchased his first guitar and other places significant to his life there. We end the tour at the Elvis Presley Birthplace – an impressive and tastefully landscaped complex housing the tiny ‘shotgun’ wooden home in which he was born, the first church that he attended, the Elvis Presley Museum, Memorial Chapel and the Visitor Centre. We’ll end our day in Tupelo with a stop off at the Barnes crossing shopping mall where they have a great food hall to grab a bite to eat before we drive back to Memphis.
Making this trip extremely unique will be a very special guest indeed. Again, courtesy of Essential Elvis UK, Elvis' first cousin, Wayne Mann, will be with us for the duration. Wayne (his mother, Lilian, was Gladys Presley's sister) also grew up in Tupelo and he knows every inch of the city. Wayne and his family lived virtually next door to the Presley’s, and there is nothing quite like hearing recollections from someone who was there - it's even more special if it's Elvis cousin!
Free day to enjoy the sights and sounds of Memphis, to revisit Graceland, shop for souvenirs, visit some great museums – including the Cotton Museum, the Rock & Soul Museum, the National Civil Rights Museum or the Stax Studio Museum – or bop your way down Beale Street, the greatest music street in the world.
Don't worry, we will be on hand to guide and assist you in getting to the places that are important to your party. If you need directions or tips in getting to see something special, just ask one of the team. We will be there to help, with pleasure.
During Elvis Week Elvis Presley Enterprises will be arranging various activities and concerts that you may wish to partake in – no details are available at the time of preparing this brochure but they will be sent to you nearer to the tour departure date together with information as to how to book them.
Morning free before transferring to the airport to connect with our flight via a gateway city and then overnight to the UK.
