Join us on our brand new quilting retreat amidst the fine surroundings of an Italian Villa in the gastronomic region of Friuli Venezia. Tucked away in the northeast this relatively undiscovered area of Italy shares borders with Austria and Slovenia. Its cultural diversity is matched too by a splendid landscape of mountains and grapevine-filled plains. You’ll be staying at the atmospheric Villa Luppis in the company of our renowned textile expert Philippa Naylor. With four days of patchwork classes planned, Philippa has decided to create a totally new original quilt top which she will design especially for this exclusive holiday. She is planning to do a little research on the hotel and its location to inspire her design. The techniques will include precision piecing and a variety of appliqué methods, all of which can be completed by machine or by hand. The design will be adaptable and suitable for a smaller project, or can be enlarged to make a full sized bed quilt. Learning new skills whilst creating your individual quilt top will result in a project to be proud of, and one which will remind you of your time staying in this beautiful part of Italy.

No visit to this region would be complete without visiting Venice and we have included a full day excursion so you can enjoy all the glories of this unique city too.

During your stay dinner is included each evening and will be served in different locations in the Villa giving you the opportunity to experience all the charming character of the hotel and the chance to enjoy typical regional cuisine too. A wine tasting is also included in the Villa’s cellar and on one evening you will dine in a local restaurant in Treviso.

Villa Luppis is situated on the riverside in Rivarotto di Pasiano in the province of Perdonne, in the Friuli-Venzia-Giulia region to the north east of Venice. This region is situated in Italy's northeast and borders Slovenia and Austria with the Adriatic Sea to the south and the high mountains of the Alps to the north and Dolomites to the east. The nearby city of Treviso is the original production area of Prosecco wine, and being one of several towns thought to have been the origin of the popular Italian dessert tiramisu.
