We’d like to invite you to join us for our first overseas retreat! Our partners at Justhands-on.TV have arranged for Valerie and Jennie to join you during a week on the wonderful island of Malta. Spend an incredible week at the 4 star db Seabank Hotel on an all-inclusive basis with 4 full days of workshops and a programme of evening fun and entertainment, and all in the company of fellow quilters.

We’ll fly from London Gatwick to Malta on 10th November 2017 (other regional airports by arrangement and at additional cost). Return airport transfers are included as well as your 7 nights stay on an All Inclusive basis, so all meals and drinks are included with nothing else to pay. You’ll also enjoy an included full day excursion to the capital Valetta and the services of our tour manager to ensure that all goes well and you make the most of your break. We have secured a large number of single rooms at a very reasonable supplement so this break is sure to appeal to solo travellers and groups of friends alike.

Jennie Rayment is a world renowned quilt teacher, lecturer, author of nine quilt books and numerous patterns. In addition to teaching her original creations and novel designs at all USA premium quilt shows and indeed at our Festival of Quilts, Jennie also has her own Quilting Classroom show monthly on national television.

From Houston to Qatar, Durban to Melbourne, Auckland and many other international cities, Jennie has wowed them all with her superb teaching style and hilarious lectures all laced with wit, charm and professional expertise. Often working in calico, she manipulates and manoeuvres material into magical formations that appear deviously difficult yet are oh sew simple to produce. Her techniques are suitable for all abilities and can be incorporated into quilts, garments, home decor, bags and boxes. In her field, she is unique.

Valerie has nearly 30 years of experience of teaching patchwork classes which means she has a wide depth of patchwork knowledge. Valerie loves to work with quick and easy patterns particularly those linked with the rotary cutter and the sewing machine, but is also able to guide those who like to create projects more slowly (even by hand!) to create an heirloom piece.

Valerie was the Founder of Creative Quilting in 1989, a quilt shop near Hampton Court that is still flourishing and where Valerie continues to teach on a weekly basis. Valerie went on to launch Justhands-on.TV , Britain’s premier online tutorials for patchwork, quilting and textile art, in 2009. She has become a bit of a YouTube celebrity with over 800,000 views - - from around the globe - - of her “40 minute scrap quilt” tutorial.
