Orient-Express offers two unique and wholly individual luxury rail travel experiences in the United Kingdom; British Pullman and Northern Belle departing nationwide and all year round.
The British Pullman exudes an ambience of elegance and beauty. Originally conceived as ‘Palaces on Wheels’ by George Mortimer Pullman, each lavishly appointed carriage is an original masterpiece from the 1920’s and 30’s meticulously restored by skilled craftsmen. Plush, comfortable upholstery, intricate marquetry, inlaid mosaic floors and solid brass fittings are all delicately illuminated by softly-shaded lamps, setting the scene for your dalliance with the golden age of luxury travel.
Northern Belle embodies the distinctive opulence and skilled craftsmanship associated with the classic ‘Belle’ trains of the 1930’s. Expertly and exquisitely detailed, each carriage is furnished with specially commissioned designs, fabrics and marquetry. Every carriage is a work of art that provides the perfect atmosphere of comfort and elegance.
The cuisine aboard either train is a delight, accompanied by champagne and wines carefully selected to complement the fine food served at your table which is set with starched white cloth, shining silver and glittering crystal. The service, like your journey, will be calm and unruffled. Settle into your deeply comfortable seat and be transported back to another age while Britain’s glorious countryside unfolds outside your window.

WARDROBE NOTES
Smart casual wear (but not jeans) is the order of the day. We do appreciate however that many of our clients prefer to ‘dress up’ for such a day – to make even more of an occasion out of this wonderful experience. This is something that we like to encourage.
A TASTE FOR TRAVEL
Your fare includes table d’hôte meals as marked. Menus are liable to seasonal change. If you have any
special dietary requirements, make sure to advise us when booking and we will do our best to comply. A glass of champagne is included on each excursion and lunch and dinner are complimented by excellent wines included in the price.
SEATING
Accommodation on the British Pullman is at tables for one, two, three or four; Northern Belle seating is at tables for two and four. Please note that at busy times, parties of two may be seated sharing a table for four.
SMOKING
With apologies to smokers, the British Pullman and Northern Belle operate a no smoking policy aboard.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
If you’re seeking a very acceptable present for a special occasion, look no further. We offer gift vouchers for an actual excursion or a set amount. Further details on request.
DISABLED PASSENGERS
We regret that the carriages cannot be boarded in wheelchairs. However, staff are available to assist passengers to their seats and folding wheelchairs can be stored in the vestibules. Some excursions may be more suitable than others. Details on request.
DEPARTURES & TIMINGS
All British Pullman excursions are scheduled to depart from and arrive back at London Victoria Station. Northern Belle departure points are as indicated.
However, on some dates, due to engineering works, the train may depart from or arrive back at a different station. Please note that the British Pullman and Northern Belle operate within the constraints of the rail network and final timings may not be confirmed until 7 days prior to the excursion. Tickets and itineraries cannot be dispatched until these timings are received.

EXCLUSIVE CHARTERS/GROUP BOOKINGS
Charter the British Pullman or Northern Belle for your own purposes. Many companies choose it for the launch of luxury products, or to celebrate success, or even to say ‘thank you’ to their clients or staff.
