Stitchtopia Monthly Catchup – October

We’ve had a busy month here at Stitchtopia HQ and would like to share what we’ve been up to, just in case you missed anything!

We had a great time exhibiting at Alexandra Palace for the Knit & Stitch Show earlier this month. It’s so lovely to meet some of our regular travellers and hear about your travels with Stitchtopia! We also saw some new faces at the show which we hope to welcome on a tour in the future!

Some fantastic tours have departed over the past month or so & we’ve received some great feedback from some of our travellers. You may have seen the updates from Mandy Shaw’s visit to New England at the beginning of the month. The group got some great photos and it looks like they made full use of the quilting shops! See Mandy’s blog here…

We also travelled to the West of Ireland with Carol Meldrum for a knit & crochet adventure. The group took a closer look at traditional Aran techniques & had plenty of time to explore the Irish landscapes! We’ll be returning with Carol next October, full details here…

We’ve launched two new trips recently, both of which are proving to be quite popular! Both are brand new itinerary’s for 2018! Janice Gunner is embarking on a quest to discover blue woad in the pink city of Toulouse – think pretty hillptop walled villages, traditional French markets & heavenly chocolate shops! Be inspired by the blue woad and the beautiful wrought iron work in our workshops with Janice and discover the dyeing process in a visit to Lectoure and Revel. Find out more here…

Our second new release is a visit to an international festival of patchwork, quilts and textile arts in Germany. The festival is named as the German Quilters Guild highlight of the year and 2018 will be our first visit! Pat Archibald is leading this tour which combines the festival with a stay in the bewitching Harz Mountains – a land of fairytales! There will be the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings and meet local crafts people to provide inspiration for your workshops. Find out more about the trip here…

Whilst we have launched a few new trips this past month, we have also filled our final spaces on some existing tours. Textile Contrasts of Japan, Majestic Fjordland Quilting Cruise and Cruise & Stitch along the Danube are now all sold out. We can’t wait to see both some familiar and some new faces on these tours! If you have missed out on a space this time, make sure you’re on our newsletter list to be amongst the first to know about our new releases!

Our featured tour this month is our Indian Textile Adventure. It’s the ultimate adventure for a textile lover and such a fabulous chance to experience the vibrant colours & cultural wonders of this extraordinary country. We’ve travelled to India a number of times before and it always proves to be a fantastic trip, but we’ve created a fresh itinerary for 2018 to make it even more exciting. Take a peek at the full details on our website here and don’t hesitate to contact us with any queries you may have!
