Spend a full day exploring the home of Lindt chocolate, Zurich, where we stroll the picturesque streets, take a boat ride, and over-indulge at a chocolate factory and museum. We’ll also discover the fascinating history of the Swiss textile industry at St. Gallen.
We’ll spend four full days in workshops with Janice Gunner, exploring her famous log cabin tips and tips, and creating a wallhanging or table runner from Japanese Yukata fabric. Your kit is included, as is a copy of Janice’s book Liberating Log Cabin to accompany the workshops.
Janice’s Workshops
During your visit to the Bernina Creative Centre, Janice will lead a workshop on her famous and fun “Log Cabin with Attitude” technique to make a stunning narrow wall hanging/Table Runner. Working in conjunction with her easy-to-follow book of the same name, Janice will show you some quick and easy tips on how to turn three patchwork blocks into a work of art or a fabulous conversation piece for your table. You will be shown several alternative machine quilting techniques to complement the patchwork, as well as several finishing methods for the edges too. It will roll up nice and small, so it doesn’t take up too much space in your suitcase for the journey home.
