Yokohama Quilt Time Festival

Following on from the popularity of our tour featuring Japan’s Great Festival of Quilts in Tokyo, we are pleased to add another Japanese quilt festival to our programme. The Yokohama Quilt Time Festival is smaller and less crowded than the Great Festival of Quilts. We’ll spend a full day here, viewing exhibitions by well-known quilt masters, competition quilts and have plenty of time for shopping of course!

A fascinating fusion of old and new, Japan’s soaring skyscrapers and high-tech innovation sit side by side with historical pagodas and traditional shrines. A country with deep-rooted cultural and religious beliefs, Japan also has a long history of textile excellence. As we travel, including a journey in one of Japan’s famed bullet trains, we’ll explore cultural sights, some of Japan’s best gardens and meet and enjoy workshops with local crafts people.
