The 35th annual UK Queen weekend convention is back! The residential non-stop party where Queen fans congregate from all corners of the globe, is a jam packed weekend. Full of events featuring live music, guest star interviews, nightly Queen discos, quizzes, games and fancy-dress parties. Stop by the Queen-themed Market Place to search for wanted items to top up collections and check out the Charity Auction with unique items up for grabs. Take part in sport competitions, view unseen footage on the big screen and most popular live shows and videos and more. It’s Queen from morning till night!
Since the conventions began, we have had many guests from the Queenworld past who tell their own unique stories. How did Freddie design the famous gauntlet? What was it like when Freddie met Montserrat Caballe? How did Roger put his first band together? Stories unfold and your questions are answered by the people that experienced them first-hand.
We have also had many exclusives at the event. New albums played, exclusive videos shown of documentaries and live concerts from the past and present. We have also had appearances of Brian's Red Special, Roger’s drum kit, band stage costumes, Freddie’s stamp collection and even Freddie's Rolls Royce! The possibilities of what you could see are endless.
At the last convention we saw Mike Moran on stage, we enjoyed fascinating unheard clips from Greg Brooks Queen Archivist and Simon Lupton with the UK Premier of a Documentary, Live music from Tim Staffell and his band, Crazy Little Things from Holland, Dios Salve a la Reina from Argentina…it is unlike anything you have ever seen before!
This is a party that never ends, a place to meet up with old friends and to make new ones. If you have never been before, why not come along and join in the fun? Plans are underway to make this year's the most exciting yet, with more announcements being made very soon about the guests appearing.
