Set sail through narrow gorges and steep-sided valleys on a breathtaking journey along the river Rhine from Amsterdam to Mainz. Visit some of the most significant WWII battle sites in Arnhem before continuing to stunning Cologne and its enormous Gothic cathedral. Discover Koblenz, one of Germany's oldest, most picturesque, and most diverse cities before experiencing Rüdesheim and its expertly produced wine. Finishing the journey with stops in magnificent Mannheim and beautiful Strasbourg, which is well known for its world heritage status. Today you are free to explore Amsterdam at your leisure. Amsterdam boasts 120 canals, 1280 bridges and a host of museums. During your free time, why not admire the 17th-century merchant houses or the floating flower market, which is ablaze with colour in every season. There are also many traditional and contemporary art galleries to visit and of course, Amsterdam is a haven for shoppers. We enjoy dinner on board the ship and set sail for Arnhem.

Overview
We arrive into Arnhem and this morning, where there’s the opportunity to join our optional walking tour of Arnhem, in the company of a local guide. Arnhem is probably most famous for The Battle of Arnhem which was one of the largest battles in WWII. On our walking tour, you’ll see some of the key battle locations such as the John Frost Bridge and the St. Elisabeth Gasthuis. Learn more about the rich history of Arnhem as you pass the historic Rozet Building, as well as Devil's House and Sabers Gate too. We return to the ship for lunch, and we set sail for Cologne overnight.

This morning we bid farewell to our captain and crew and disembark for the return journey to the UK.
