Meet Anna, Frederica, and your Arena Travel Tour Manager at London Heathrow for your flight to Basel. Upon arrival, you will transfer to your hotel on the outskirts of Freiburg in Germany. You will have some time to settle in and grab some lunch before travelling into Freiburg centre, where we will enjoy a guided tour through the historical narrow streets, town gates and ‘Bächle’ – a striking landmark of the city. You will also see the Gothic Cathedral and the marketplace before having the opportunity to explore independently. In the early evening, we will return to the hotel where dinner is included.

The Titisee lake lies in the heart of the southern Black Forest. This morning you will enjoy exploring at your own leisure. Look for the Black Forest Ham and cuckoo clocks, take a stroll along the waters of lake, and admire the peaceful scenery.
This afternoon, we will make our return to the Freiburg area, stopping in Schauinslandbahn on route where we will take the cable car up for magnificent views of the Black Forest.

Today we will immerse ourselves in the history of the Black Forest at the Black Forest Open Air Museum. Enjoy a guided tour around the museum learning how people used to live and work in the Black Forest. Besides farming, various handicrafts played a significant role in people’s lives – today we will see a local craftsman demonstrate and explain their craft. You will then have the opportunity to enjoy some time at leisure and explore independently.

Tour Notes: You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness to get the most out of this holiday. On excursion days you will need to walk a short distance from the hotel to the coach and you should be able to board the coach unaided. On arrival at the excursion destination, you should be able to alight the coach unaided and there may be a walk between the coach drop off point and the excursion venue.
