EBU Tunisia Congress
The March 2024 EBU Overseas Congress will take place in the stunning 5* Barcelo Concorde Green Park Palace, Tunisia. What a location! Set in 5 hectares of lush gardens, palm trees tower majestically around the huge 1500 metre outdoor pool which leads down to its own fine sandy beach. The bridge fee for the EBU Green and Blue pointed Congress is included in the cost of the package. We also include two fabulous half-day guided excursions. We visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site in El Jem, where you will view the 3rd largest Roman amphitheatre in the world and visit the stunning Mosaic Museum. Our second excursion takes us to the fascinating Medina of Sousse. Here, you can barter for goods and admire the local way of life. We also stop in Monastir and visit the incredible mausoleum of Bourguiba and view the Ribat. As well as the usual 7-night congress package, there is the option of a 10-night package, so you can travel out 3 days before the congress starts. This will allow you to relax and enjoy the hotels superb facilities or do some sightseeing before the congress begins. Bridge will also be provided on the 2 evenings prior to the tournament if there is sufficient demand. Chris and Linda Benneworth
Linda and Chris have been married since 1971, having met while they were teaching at the same high school.
Following successful careers in education they retired in the late nineties, when they started directing together, working at first in local and more recently in overseas congresses. They ran the North Eastern Bridge Association Congress for a number of years in Otterburn, Consett and Gateshead, an event with a deserved reputation for friendliness. Since 2019, they have worked as hosts and director at EBU overseas congresses in Athens, Sicily and Rome. They even play together occasionally to ensure there are full tables. Chris is an EBU national director who also teaches others the art of directing and Linda is a qualified County director.
They both believe that bridge is a great game which is meant to be enjoyed; a holiday is the perfect way of doing that.

This morning, we visit the city of Monastir while passing by the coast Sousse Monastir, and admire one of the most cult cities of Tunisia. You can take advantage of your day to see the Ribat of Monastir, the mausoleum of Bourguiba, one of the largest fish markets in Tunisia and the Marina of Monastir. On the way back, you will have a stopover at the Medina of Sousse, the ideal place to do your shopping and admire the local life of Tunisia.

This circuit to El-Jem allows you to discover its huge colosseum. The Colosseum of El Jem is simply the 3rd largest amphitheatre in the Roman world after those of Rome and Capua, and perhaps the best preserved. Indeed, this visit amazes with its architecture and the genius developed for its construction. The Thydrus, an antique considered by its colized of elliptic form, is 149 m long on 124 m broad and 26 m height and is comprised of 3 stages galleries and can contain 30,000 spectators. The site has been logically classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1979. We include a guided tour of the incredible Mosaic Museum.
