After breakfast at we board our coach and travel to the fascinating Crich Tramway Village. This national tramway museum has so much to offer including over 60 trams built between 1873 and 1982. There’s also a park, woodland walk, a picnic point with stunning views, plus plenty of places to eat and drink. After some free time to explore we’ll depart the village and journey to Matlock Bath for an included ride on the Heights of Abraham cable car, where after ascending 554ft to the top station, we’ll enjoy views over Derwent Valley and the surrounding Peak District. *Image credit: (c) Heights of Abraham*

This morning our coach transfers us to Wirksworth station where we’ll join the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, a former terminus of the Midland Railway which was reopened in 2002. We’ll enjoy a fantastic roundtrip train journey taking in the beautiful scenery of the Peak District. After some free time at Wirksworth station where you can visit the museum and quaint little shop, we’ll continue on to Matlock where we will join the Peak Rail Heritage Railway. The line follows the River Derwent and passes through the spectacular Matlock Dale. We’ll rejoin our coach at Matlock and return to our hotel for dinner.

After a leisurely breakfast we journey by coach to Caverswall Road Station where we join the Foxfield Light Railway; a volunteer-led railway. We’ll enjoy a roundtrip taking in the Staffordshire countryside in lovely period carriages. After our journey our coach takes us to Froghall station where we’ll join the Churnet Valley Railway. This heritage railway operates along part of the former North Staffordshire Railway’s Churnet Valley Line and takes you on a journey back to the classic days of railway travel as it passes through beautiful countryside. We’ll experience a roundtrip journey from Froghall and return to our hotel after. We’ll enjoy our final evening with a relaxing dinner.
