Holiday Overview

Join us at the Athena Beach Hotel Paphos for our Christmas and New Year overseas bridge & bowls holiday. This hotel is exceptionally popular with First for Bridge guests and renowned for its excellent service and superb dining, and offers a wide range of facilities. Ideally located with direct access to a sandy beach, and a pleasant flat coastal walk takes you directly into Paphos harbour.

There is so much to do on this holiday. In addition to our bridge sessions and seminars we include seven bowls sessions on our 2 week holiday, and the hotel offers twice weekly dance lessons with their resident dance leaders. Combine this with a festive programme of events in the hotel and Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve Gala Dinners on our 14-night holiday, and you are guaranteed a truly wonderful holiday!

If you can find time to tear yourself away from all these activities there is much to discover on the beautiful island of Cyprus. Take a trip up the Troodos Mountains visiting traditional villages and monasteries, passing Aphrodite’s Rock on the way. Explore Paphos – it is listed in UNESCO’s list of World Cultural Heritage sites. Walk around the harbour and castle, which was originally a Byzantine fort. Visit the Paphos mosaics, considered to be the finest in the eastern Mediterranean, explore the Tomb of the Kings from the Hellenic and Roman periods, and view the legendary Baths of Aphrodite. You can even venture further afield, crossing the border into Nicosia, the only divided capital in Europe!
