For many years the idyllic island of Corfu has been a favourite destination for British holidaymakers, and the picturesque capital, Corfu Town reflects this in its diverse history. Our 5-star accommodation, the Rodostamo Hotel and Spa, boasts superb facilities, excellent service and delicious dining. Although peacefully located, it is easy to get around the island as the hotel offers a shuttle service, and Gouvia can be reached by boat from Kommeno Bay. We also include an excursion to colourful Corfu Town, with its cobblestone streets, pastel coloured Venetian architecture, and Medieval fortresses.

Mark Hooper

Mark is a bridge Premier Life Master, having played competitively for over 30 years. After retiring from a career in IT, Mark has been able to indulge his passion for bridge. While allowing time to play more bridge, he also threw himself in to other aspects such as bridge directing and teaching.

He is an EBU-qualified tournament director, and an EBU-accredited bridge teacher, teaching beginners at his local bridge club. Mark continues to play lots of bridge at a high level, having represented Dorset in major competitions such as the Tollemache, the Corwen and the Pachabo. He can be seen at most of the major bridge congresses across the South of England.

Itinerary

Arrive in Corfu.

Includes Dinner

Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.

Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.

Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams. On UK holidays, bridge sessions may take place in the mornings instead of the afternoons, complimenting any included excursion programme.

Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.

During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.

One excursion to Corfu Town will be included during your holiday.
