Perfect your hand pieced patchwork with the sewing of a Friendship Garden patchwork block. Suitable for beginners and those wanting to stretch their hand piecing skills. You will make templates, mark the fabric, cut and sew the blocks. Learn skills including set-in piecing and curves. The block can be used on its own, or when four are set together a secondary pattern occurs which would work well as a frame quilt centre or part of a repeat block quilt.

Today we will look at the techniques of Borro, Kawandi, Kantha & Tile Blocks, which all come from different cultural textile backgrounds, but all have in common the use of fabric scraps and hand stitching. You will create a mini quilt/coaster using your choice of technique and learn a fun, hassle free method of binding the quilt edges, all by hand.
