"25 years ago I moved to the village of Long Preston in the Yorkshire Dales and immediately fell in love with its rolling landscape, dry stone walls and isolated farms and villages. Ten years ago my hobby became my job and I set up my own walking company, offering navigation courses, guiding service and even wrote a couple of books on the area. However the job really just gave me an excuse to explore the Dales and search out the very best walks. I have now completed nearly 200 walks in the dales, many with my faithful border collie Mist."

"The walks we have chosen for the Railway Tracks & Walking Trails in the Yorkshire Dales are some of my favourites. Not only is the landscape lovely to look at (and easy to walk through) but the area is full of history and interesting anecdotes."

"We follow the footsteps of the Bronte sisters on the walk through the moors to the site that was inspiration for Wuthering Heights, enjoy the limestone scenery above Settle and the lovely woodland of the River Ribble. All have stories, all straight forward walking and all are my own personal favourites!"
