Join us for a 6-night knitting holiday to Iceland, home to breath-taking scenery and rich knitting traditions. This tour will be joined by French-Icelandic designer, Helene Magnusson and you’ll enjoy a number of workshops with her and a visit to her inspiring studio. Excursions will take us to the relaxing waters of the Blue Lagoon and Iceland’s most popular route, the Golden Circle – with a woolly twist! We will visit local artisans, dyers and spinners and learn new and old methods – you are sure to have an unforgettable insight into the Icelandic culture and knitting heritage.
Meet your Arena Tour Travel Manager at London Heathrow airport for your morning flight to Iceland. Upon arrival into Reykjavík, we will be greeted by Hélène Magnússon, our knitting expert and our local guide. From the airport we will drive directly to the Blue Lagoon. We will spend some time here, soaking in the waters and having lunch at the Lava restaurant.
This morning we will depart our hotel for the airport for our return flight to the UK.
Tour Notes: You will need to have a reasonable level of fitness to get the most out of this holiday. On excursion days you will need to walk a short distance from the hotel to the coach and you should be able to board the coach unaided. On arrival at the excursion destination, you should be able to alight the coach unaided and there may be a walk between the coach drop off point and the excursion venue. By their nature, walking tours, museum visits etc involve being on your feet for a significant amount of time. Whilst our excursions are taken at a leisurely pace, for the enjoyment of everyone in the group you should be able to keep up with your fellow travellers.
Specially designed for knitters, this Stitchtopia knitting holiday is the ideal opportunity to meet like-minded knitters and indulge in your favourite hobby. Our talented knitting expert will be on hand throughout the holiday and host inspirational workshops with a beautifully designed project to get those needles clicking!
