Malta, Sicily and the Aeolian Islands

Harmony G awaits us in Valletta and we begin embarkation in the afternoon. Enjoy a welcome drink as you meet your fellow passengers, captain and crew. Overnight in port.

This morning we sail to Gozo Island with a swim stop enroute.  After lunch we arrive in Gozo harbour. Why not join our optional excursion to the Citadel and its baroque Cathedral, our Lady of Ta Pinu Basilica, the St George Basilica and the Cathedral Museum. After a short wine tasting, we will return to the ship and set sail overnight to Syracuse.

Early morning arrival into Syracuse, join us on one of our optional excursions. Walk through the historic old town of Ortigia and witness the magnificent Greek Theatre carved into the hillside or this afternoon explore the baroque town of Noto, a jewel of a town situated on plateau. Late in the evening we leave Syracuse for the Aeolian Islands. Overnight at sea.

The seven uninhabited islands of Aeolian are charming and extremely varied. We stop at Lipari, the largest island and the only one with a sizeable town which you can discover more on our optional morning sightseeing excursion. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight in port

This morning we sail to Vulcano Island, famous for its majestic volcano crater and the mud baths. Join our optional morning walking tour along the slopes of the volcano towards the crater, whilst enjoying gorgeous views. Afternoon sailing to Panarea, a quaint old style Aeolian Island with free time in port. Back on board we sail slowly past the island of Stromboli, famous for its live volcano, the sight of live lava eruptions is not to be missed. Overnight sailing to Catania.

This morning join our optional excursion to the Etna Volcano, Europe’s largest active volcano, and peer into the bubbling lava flow of its main crater. This afternoon you can take our optional walking tour of Catania and discover the hidden treasures of this old Italian city. Overnight in port.

Our day starts with an optional tour at nearby Taormina, a city with endlessly winding medieval streets and secluded gardens hidden by stone walls. Our optional full day excursion features a stroll along the Corso Umberto, lined with piazza, Duomos and palazzo such as the Palazzo Santo Stefano. Discover the town’s medieval centre, 300 metres above sea level, and sip Italian roast coffee on a sun terrace overlooking the Mediterranean. Explore the magnificent Greek amphitheatre, which dates back to 301AD, but is still in use today. After our farewell dinner, we start our return sailing to Malta sailing overnight.

Enjoy breakfast at your leisure, then bid farewell to the captain, crew and ship, before disembarking and setting off on your return journey.
