Play Bridge and Explore in the Austrian Alps

This holiday has an incredible number of activities on offer in and out the bridge room, and you can join in as little or as much as you want! During the day you can learn new tricks and improve your bridge during our classes, or you can join in some of our group walks in the mountains. Kaprun is located up in the mountain valley and is linked to Zell am See by a 13-minute drive or a scenic alpine walk along the riverside. In Kaprun you can take the cable cars up the incredibly high 3029m Kizsteinhorn, opening up an unforgettable world of glaciers and mountains amongst Austria’s highest peaks. You can walk and hike on the Maiskogel Mountain or visit Kaprun’s high-altitude reservoirs, deep blue lakes at an altitude of 1200m with panoramic views of the Grossglockner mountains – quite unique! During our stay James and Jane will be arranging some group walks for those who wish to join them and play bridge on top of a mountain. Alternatively, you can simply use your summer card and do your own thing at your own pace. **Included to enhance your holiday:** All guests will receive a free Zell am See – Kaprun summer card which allows you to enjoy a wide range of nearby tourist experiences. You can go up the glacier and cable cars in both Kaprun and Zell am See, visit the dams, take a boat trip on the lake, or walk through the Siegmund Thun gorge. The card even gives you free or reduced entry to other local attractions and reduced costs on local buses.

James & Jane Tullett

James has been playing bridge for over 30 years and is regularly picked for his county. He also enjoys playing in congresses around the country (when his less competitive wife Jane lets him!)

James has run his own furnishing business for over 30 years from his base in Norfolk and recently, with his good friend and fellow First for Bridge host, John Barker, has established the Norfolk Bridge Academy. Between them, they have over 100 pupils learning to play and enjoying the wonderful game of bridge.

Jane has worked as a manager for over 12 years at her local university and then the NHS. She brings her organisational and interpersonal skills to the forefront to make an excellent hosting team with her husband James.

Jane and James have travelled extensively in recent years to explore exotic parts of the world, such as Peru, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. They both enjoy meeting new people, with the emphasis on fun and laughter, which may possibly include a drink or two.
