Play and Explore on the Italian and French Rivieras

Join us on this Play and Explore bridge holiday on the Italian Riviera. You can expect a warm welcome at the Hotel Palace from owners Elisabeth and Loris and their attentive staff.  With just 48 rooms this classic hotel is really something special. Diano Marina is a great base from which to explore this fascinating region, full of quaint coastal towns, colourful gardens and beautiful flowers. Walkers can enjoy a coastal walk to neighbouring Imperia, capital of the province – don’t miss its Olive Museum. The medieval village of Cervo with its winding cobbled streets, colourful houses and famous music school is also worthy of a visit, as well as the hilltop Diano Castello. **Included tours** Our full day tour of Liguria takes us to Dolceacqua, one of the prettiest villages of Liguria. Spend time in this historic centre and be enchanted by the Doria Castle and Roman Bridge before our local wine tasting. We stop off in San Remo on return. Our full day tour to the French Riviera starts at the Prince’s Palace in the Principality of Monaco & Monte Carlo. Then, leaving the Casino and the Café de Paris behind we take the famous panoramic coastal road, the Grande Corniche, to the hilltop medieval village of Eze, where we visit its perfume factory.

James & Jane Tullett

James has been playing bridge for over 30 years and is regularly picked for his county. He also enjoys playing in congresses around the country (when his less competitive wife Jane lets him!)

James has run his own furnishing business for over 30 years from his base in Norfolk and recently, with his good friend and fellow First for Bridge host, John Barker, has established the Norfolk Bridge Academy. Between them, they have over 100 pupils learning to play and enjoying the wonderful game of bridge.

Jane has worked as a manager for over 12 years at her local university and then the NHS. She brings her organisational and interpersonal skills to the forefront to make an excellent hosting team with her husband James.

Jane and James have travelled extensively in recent years to explore exotic parts of the world, such as Peru, Sri Lanka and Vietnam. They both enjoy meeting new people, with the emphasis on fun and laughter, which may possibly include a drink or two.
