You will then enjoy two nights in Glasgow with free time to explore Scotland’s largest city before we continue to Oban, where we join our magnificent Hebridean Islands cruise. Itinerary

Please choose your preferred 11 day itinerary

Make your own way to Edinburgh to meet Royal Scotsman, A Belmond Train (we can arrange the Caledonian Sleeper train from London if you require or accommodation the night before in Edinburgh, at a supplement). You’ll depart Edinburgh in the early afternoon and head north towards the Highlands ahead of your first evening meal on board, after which there will be traditional Scottish entertainment.

As well as the breath-taking views from the train, after breakfast a luxury motor-coach will take you into the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, where there is a choice of outdoor activities to enjoy and, after lunch on the train, a private Culloden Battlefield tour. Enjoy an evening visit to Strathisla Distillery. Your formal dinner will be served tonight.

Cairngorm National Park

Disembark Royal Scotsman in Edinburgh and transfer to your hotel in Glasgow for a two-night stay, with time at leisure to explore or relax. Famed for its art nouveau and Victorian architecture, Glasgow is a modern city with old fashioned charm and is a delight to discover.

Today you will transfer to Glasgow station where you will meet the crew of the Hebridean Princess, and be taken to the ship in Oban, for your seven-night “Flavours of the Hebrides” cruise. Once on board you will enjoy lavish meals made from the finest local ingredients and be able to sample a range of malt whiskies.

Oban

Today we cruise to Crinan, via the Crinan Canal. Crinan is a small village on the west coast of Scotland. Why not explore on one of our towpath walks? From Crinan we continue to Colonsay. Affectionately known as ‘the jewel of the Hebrides’, Colonsay island is just 10miles long and two miles wide. Whilst on the island we enjoy some local oysters and honey.

Beautiful deserted sandy beach at Kiloran Bay

Today we cruise past Fingal's Cave and the Treshnish Isles to Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Explore the towns waterfront with its famous brightly colour buildings. Whilst in Tobermory we are treated to some tasting of Isle of Mull cheese.

Fingal's Cave

We make our way to Armadale on the Isle of Skye today. Whilst in the village we will visit the Clan Donald Centre and enjoy lunch at Kinloch Lodge. After dinner we will head to the Torabhaig Distillery. Discover how the Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made and perhaps enjoy a taste or two.

Armadale Castle

We explore Shieldaig today, which is situated on the banks of Loch Torridon, the island offers a truly unique, yet beautiful landscape. Walks ashore with lunch at the Torridon Hotel, situated in one of the most spectacular locations in the country. Leaving Shieldaig we continue to cruise The Narrows to Kylerhea, a tiny settlement on the Isle of Skye.

Shieldag

Eigg is often said to be one of the most beautiful Hebridean islands. Walk ashore and explore the natural beauty. Why not climb Britain’s largest pitchstone ridge, walk the white sandy beaches, or try and catch a glimpse of the islands’ Eagles. After our visit to Eigg we continue to cruise the Sound of Mull.

On our last full day, we enjoy a visit to Eriska, where we enjoy lunch at the Isle of Eriska Hotel. We then continue to Craignure on the Isle of Mull where we head to Duart Castle for a champagne reception.

Disembark your cruise and transfer back to Glasgow. From here you may wish to extend your stay, transfer back to Edinburgh, or make your way home, all of which we can help you with.
