Cruise the Aegean Sea from Istanbul to Athens aboard the five-star Sea Cloud II. We arrive in Kavala, where you can join our optional excursion to the ancient city of Philippi. Originally a Thracian settlement, the city was conquered around 355 BC by Philip of Macedon, the father of Alexander the Great, before it fell under Roman rule roughly 200 years later. It was here in around 50 AD that the Apostle Paul set up the first Christian congregation in Europe. The site’s well-maintained amphitheatre still hosts plenty of performances and events. Return to the ship in the afternoon as we sail to Skiathos overnight.

Overview
Skiathos, located in the northwest Aegean Sea, is part of the Sporades archipelago. It’s best known for its beaches and lively nightlife scene. Why not explore the Skiathos Town, where bars and restaurants spill onto sidewalks along the old harbour or take time to relax on one of the many beaches? This afternoon we will continue our voyage to Syros.

This morning we will arrive in Syros, the capital of the Cycladic islands. Explore the island’s Capital Ermoupolis and its maze of narrow yet sophisticated passages filled with cafes and tavernas. Return to the ship by 12:30PM as we sail to Nauplio.

The Peloponnese region in mainland Greece stretches over a peninsula for more than 8,000 square miles. Surrounded by olive groves and forests, it is one of Greece's undeveloped territories. Explore the ancient site of Mycenae or Nauplio and discover its unknown beauty by bike on an optional excursion. This evening, we will continue our journey to Spetses.

We arrive in Spetses this morning with free time to explore the picturesque capital at leisure. Take a stroll amongst the Venetian mansions of its town and immerse yourself in the elegant and vintage aura. This afternoon we return to the ship to make our way back to Athens.
