We’ll enjoy breakfast before we head to the popular village of Grasmere, where we will begin our circular walk. We’ll head up past Dove Cottage, the Wordsworth Museum and onto the historic woodland trail known as the ‘old coffin route’. The trail offers wonderful views across to Rydal Water, before descending past Rydal Mount, the former home of William Wordsworth. We’ll continue around Rydal Water and head past the Rydal Caves, the perfect spot for a photo. Our trail then takes us to the shoreline of Grasmere for a pleasant stroll along the water’s edge, before we head back into the village. We’ll have some time at leisure to explore Grasmere, with its striking St Oswalds Church, quaint shops and tea-rooms, you may even want to try the local Grasmere gingerbread. After our free time, we will return to our hotel for our evening meal.
