Nigel is an experienced county director and has been the chairman of his local club for longer than he cares to remember. Over the last few years he has run a very popular ‘supervised improvers night’ guiding and encouraging relatively inexperienced players to gain confidence in their ability to play at a higher level. Pauline is a club director who has experience of organising local and county congresses and has been actively involved in promoting bridge in the North East. Their main interests in life outside of bridge are travel and their two delightful granddaughters.

They are new to First for Bridge and are looking forward to welcoming guests to holidays in the future. Their aim is to ensure that guests leave us smiling and with good memories of stunning locations, enjoyable bridge, and of making new friends.

Rob Richardson

Rob has extensive experience in the travel industry in both UK and continental Europe. He is semi-retired, these days working part time. He has formally worked as a Police Officer, a newsagent, and in the banking (well before banking was considered a disreputable occupation).

Rob did not start playing bridge until he was in his 40's. He quickly started to win at his local club and progressed to competing in county and EBU events, mainly these days playing with his wife Rosa, who he considers unfortunate to still be in full time employment. Their most notable success to date is winning the pre congress pairs at the EBU's Scarborough congress this year (2016). They are both qualified bridge directors and teachers.
