Day 1: London

Make your own way to your preferred departure station and join our exclusive charter train for a scenic journey down to London where on arrival, we are transferred to The Tower Hotel on the banks of the river Thames. You can join the train at Preston, Warrington Bank Quay, Crewe or Stafford.

Day 2: Victory in Europe Day

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the hotel before we head down to the banks of the Thames and join our City Cruise. Sit back and relax as we cruise the Thames and soak up the atmosphere of the VE Day celebrations taking place in and around the city of London. At 3pm on the 8 May 1945, Winston Churchill officially announced the end of WW2 from the Cabinet Office at 10 Downing Street. To celebrate, pipers from around the world will open VE Day 75 by playing ‘Battle’s O’er,’ the traditional tune played by pipers at the end of a battle. Thousands of pubs throughout the UK, Channel Islands and the Isle of Man will encourage customers to raise a glass at 3pm and take part in The Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2. This evening, bells in churches and cathedrals will ring out collectively at 7pm to mark the end of this special day. After our cruise, we’ll return to our hotel where we’ll enjoy a special Gala Evening, including a welcome drink, delicious three course meal with wine included, followed by an evening of entertainment - the perfect ending to a memorable day!

Day 3: Home

After breakfast, we transfer back to the station where our charter train awaits to take us on the return journey home.
