For many years the idyllic island of Corfu has been a favourite destination for British holidaymakers, and the picturesque capital Corfu Town reflects this in its diverse history.

Our 2020 visit will take us to the Rodostamo – a modern and luxurious 5 star hotel overlooking the beautiful bay of Kommeno.

The Rodostamo is quietly located – ideal for relaxing on the cushioned sun loungers by the exceptionally large saltwater pool or enjoying a light lunch or cocktail from the pool bar with its unobstructed views of the Ionian Sea. Treat yourself to a pamper in the Elemis Spa.

Nearby, you will only find a handful of restaurants, but getting around could not be easier as the local transport is excellent. The bus stop is close to the hotel and frequent buses run along the coast between Corfu Town and the North of the Island allowing you to visit many different resorts and beaches. The hotel also operates daily beach transfers to Dassia and Ipsos, and a twice weekly shuttle to Corfu Town. Alternatively, take a 2 minute boat trip across the bay to Gouvia which has a good selection of shops and restaurants and lovely beach front, and sleek, modern marina.

A short walk around the bay and across the causeway will take you to the lovely Venetian Church of Ipapanti where you can light a candle in memory of your loved ones.

Not to be missed is a visit to the magnificent Achillion Palace in the picturesque village of Gastouri, built exclusively for Elizabeth (Sissy), the former Empress of Austria.

In October you can expect the weather to be a pleasant average of 23 degrees.

We have INCLUDED in our package a guided excursion into historic Corfu Town with its cobbled alleyways and many monuments form the Medieval times, including the Old Fortress, the New Fortress, Liston Promenade and legendary Mouse Island.

During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break and in addition to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum of two bridge seminars for breaks of 7 days or more.

All of our bridge holidays include bridge seminars with handouts in addition to a varied and interesting duplicate bridge programme. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed.

Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.45pm and 5pm, the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm. The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs, with at least one Swiss style event during a two-week bridge break.

During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine, which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end of the session and when we have two or more sections, both can play the same hands. On our UK duplicate bridge breaks, provided numbers allow, we usually will lay on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

We don’t forget you are on holiday, our bridge programmes allow time for relaxation plus giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area and relax.
