This will be our fourth visit to the db Seabank Resort + Spa (rated 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor!). First for Bridge guests previously praised the quality of food and drinks & the efficient and friendly staff throughout the hotel, and were extremely pleased with the very well-equipped modern rooms they were allocated. Most of all everyone agreed it represented fantastic value for money. Our guests also took advantage of the early opening times of the included themed restaurants and enjoyed dining in the Asian; Brazilian and Italian restaurants before evening bridge as well as in the buffet restaurant which offers a fantastic selection of appetising dishes.

The db Seabank Resort + Spa is a large 4 star hotel with an excellent range of amenities on offer. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, and afternoon snacks - a huge choice of quality dishes and an impressive drinks menu up until midnight is included in the cost of your holiday. Incredible value!

We also love its position. It is quietly situated on one of the most beautiful bays in Malta with flat coastal walks around the bay, yet everywhere is so accessible with local buses running frequently from directly outside the hotel to nearly everywhere on the island and tickets costs approximately 1.5 euros a day to go everywhere!

This hotel not only represents excellent value for money with its extremely good all inclusive package, but also prides itself on excellent standards and quality. Service is excellent throughout the hotel: rooms are spacious and newly refurbished, offering complimentary tea and coffee facilities, safe deposit box and fridge.

Our bridge room will accommodate up to 25 tables, and we have previously attracted large groups on every bridge holiday here.

The hotel offers many facilities without extra charge including boules, table tennis, archery, walks, and yoga, and a lovely indoor pool with Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. You can also indulge in a range of facilities in its modern spa where many offers are available at reasonable charges. There is also free Wi-Fi throughout the resort.

Most impressive is the all-inclusive package. The hotel offers an exceptional choice of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner which are hot and freshly prepared and served buffet style. Even the afternoon snacks cannot be missed as they include delicious filled wraps, sandwiches and pastries. The included drinks menu serves a very good selection of local drinks and cocktails and is available until midnight.

If you can tear yourself away from the hotel facilities and bridge the island of Malta has so much to offer. As it is only 24 by 17 kms nothing is far - yet it is filled with many traditional towns and villages. There are no less than 365 churches - one for each day of the year. Getting around is so simple. The buses stop directly outside the hotel and runs frequently to practically everywhere on the island! The ferry to the island of Gozo is a 10 minute bus ride, and the old capital Medina is not to be missed!

There are a few small shops and cafes around Mellieha Bay, but a good selection of shops and tourist facilities are available in the old, picturesque hilltop town of Mellieha which is delightful and well worth visiting. The uphill walk is quite a challenge, but the buses run almost continuously from outside the hotel and take just 5 minutes! The hotel organises some gentle, enjoyable walks to nearby Popeye’s Village and the Red Tower.

During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break and in addition to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum of two bridge seminars for breaks of 7 days or more.

All of our bridge holidays include bridge seminars with handouts in addition to a varied and interesting duplicate bridge programme. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed.

Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.45pm and 5pm, the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm. The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs, with at least one Swiss style event during a two-week bridge break.

During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine, which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end of the session and when we have two or more sections, both can play the same hands. On our UK duplicate bridge breaks, provided numbers allow, we usually will lay on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

We don’t forget you are on holiday, our bridge programmes allow time for relaxation plus giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area and relax.

db Seabank Resort + Spa, Mellieha Bay, Malta

The four star db Seabank Resort + Spa in Mellieha bay is a large, but very well managed hotel with excellent facilities. It is quietly situated overlooking a beautiful bay yet all parts of the island are very easily accessible via the excellent bus service which runs directly from outside the hotel. The all-inclusive board and service is highly commended, and there is free WIFI throughout the hotel.

Rooms in the hotel are spacious and newly refurbished with a nautical theme, plenty of wardrobe space, and a good size balcony or terrace.

Enjoy a lavish breakfast in the Coral Restaurant. If you fancy a lie in the Laguna Restaurant is open for a late breakfast until 12.00 hrs and you will still find a chef at hand to cook you a full English Breakfast! There is a wide choice of dishes available for lunch and if you are still peckish or returning from a trip then you will be able to enjoy a choice of delicious wraps, sandwiches and pastries between 15.00 & 18.00 hours.

Dinner really is excellent, with a choice of good quality dishes in a well-managed restaurant. Meals are hot, and freshly prepared and offer many traditional English dishes and delicious carved meats, that vary depending on hotel occupancy. The hotel also has a range of theme restaurants you can book at no extra charge, including a Brazilian, Asian and Italian Restaurant. To complete this superb all inclusive package there is a good range of local drinks, cocktails, beer, wine, spirits, hot & soft drinks available until midnight.

Facilities are superb and include indoor and outdoor pools; sauna; Jacuzzi; steam room; boules; archery; and other activities. There are lovely terraces by the pool and in the gardens for relaxation.

Pool facing rooms, at a small supplement of £2 per person per night are south facing, have afternoon sun in winter and are away from the main road. We recommended these rooms for these reasons and not for the view of pool which can sometimes be empty in winter.

Terrace rooms, double occupancy only, are the same as above but have a larger seating area inside the room and a large terrace with sunbeds in addition to the table and chairs.

SINGLE occupancy rooms are all large double rooms for sole use. We anticipate we will sell out of rooms with no supplement very quickly and strongly recommend booking early to secure one of these! Once sold, single supplement will be charged at £10 per night.

Please note there are 9 special access rooms with walk in showers. These rooms are sea view and a supplement is applicable and they must be requested in advance.
