Wengen is a picture postcard Swiss mountain village, situated high on a sunny plateau overlooking the mighty Jungfrau and Eiger Mountains, and down into the valley onto Lauterbrunnen, the valley of 72 waterfalls. This charming village nestling between floral pastures, lush green countryside and snow-capped mountains is traffic free and reached by mountain railway.

We stay in the Arenas Resort Victoria-Lauberhorn which is situated in the main street amongst the timbered chalets and belle epoque hotels, and just 50 metres from the mountain railway and aerial cable stations.

This hotel boasts spectacular views of the mountains and valley from its terraces, restaurant, bar and indoor pool. It is possible to upgrade to a guaranteed Jungfrau view room and enjoy one of the most photographed images in the world 24/7!

INCLUDED in your package is a 7 day Jungfrau Region rail pass worth £230. It is the ONLY way to fully experience the Bernese Overland and travel unlimitedly on mountain railways. It also includes boat trips on the Brienzersee and Thunsee, the two lakes at the foothills of the majestic mountains, with Interlaken, one of the most visited places in Europe nestling between them. It also gives you a reduction on the journey up the Jungfrau - to the Top of Europe at 3454 metres above sea level. The views from the Sphinx Observation Deck at the top are incredible and on a good day you can see as far as the Black Forest in Germany and the Vosges Mountains in France.

During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break and in addition to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum of two bridge seminars for breaks of 7 days or more.

All of our bridge holidays include bridge seminars with handouts in addition to a varied and interesting duplicate bridge programme. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed.

Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.45pm and 5pm, the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm. The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs, with at least one Swiss style event during a two-week bridge break.

During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine, which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end of the session and when we have two or more sections, both can play the same hands. On our UK duplicate bridge breaks, provided numbers allow, we usually will lay on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

We don’t forget you are on holiday, our bridge programmes allow time for relaxation plus giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area and relax.
