The 4 star Portblue S’Algar Hotel has for many, many years been a firm favourite with First for Bridge guests. In fact, we have been coming here for so long that it holds the record for the longest running overseas bridge venue ever! It’s not hard to see why it is so popular with our bridge guests. This charming, low rise, white Menorcan style building holds a privileged seafront location in the small resort of S’Algar. Guests enjoy relaxing around the two swimming pools on the spacious terraces which overlook the sea - in fact it is so close you can even take a dip in the sea from its terraces! Here you will also find our fabulous bridge room.

This adult only hotel has undergone refurbishment over the last few years, with significant changes made to the restaurant where a delightful balcony terrace has been added, boasting amazing sea views, particularly at sunset. The all-inclusive package is very good quality for both food and drink and represents great value.

The small resort of S’Algar lies just 4.2 miles from Mahon, the islands capital, which can be easily reached by local bus - or keen walkers can follow the coastline all the way into the harbour! This area of Menorca boasts a variety of some of the best beach coves in Menorca and offers a great choice of coastal walks. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle bus a few times a day into Mahon and Punta Prima.

During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break and in addition to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum of two bridge seminars for breaks of 7 days or more.

All of our bridge holidays include bridge seminars with handouts in addition to a varied and interesting duplicate bridge programme. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed.

Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.45pm and 5pm, the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm. The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs, with at least one Swiss style event during a two-week bridge break.

During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine, which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end of the session and when we have two or more sections, both can play the same hands. On our UK duplicate bridge breaks, provided numbers allow, we usually will lay on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

We don’t forget you are on holiday, our bridge programmes allow time for relaxation plus giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area and relax.
