Join Carol Meldrum, fellow knitters and crocheters for the perfect springtime break. Enjoy a 3-night cruise along the Dutch waterways, explore pretty Dutch harbours and visit the world’s largest flower garden, Keukenhof. Your first workshop with Carol will take place on-board too. On our final evening of the cruise we’ll transfer to a smaller vessel to experience the true beauty of the city on a canal cruise. Each evening, relax in the lounge with music from Elvis and the 60s, or carry on with your projects in our dedicated craft room.

Once in Amsterdam we’ll enjoy a full-day tour, visiting the highlights of the city as well as areas popular with local crafts people and as many yarn shops as we can possibly fit in! At our hotel we’ll enjoy two full-day workshops with Carol, taking inspiration from everything we have seen on our travels.

"Taking our inspiration for the week from all things Dutch, we will dip into the world of colour work and pattern to create a knit or crochet accessory.

Using the stranded knit or tapestry crochet technique, you will develop your own design using a selection of colour work charts or the more adventurous stitcher will have the opportunity to chart up their own design.

Over the course of the trip we will look at working in the round - bottom up or top down, various increase and decrease methods, how to work from a chart for both knit and crochet, and how to join in and change colour successfully."

Meet with your Tour Manager at London Gatwick airport for your flight to Amsterdam. On arrival we will be met by our coach and driver and taken to our ship, MS Serenity, our base for the next 3 nights.

This morning we’ll arrive in the atmospheric city of Hoorn and have free time to explore. At lunchtime we cruise over to the eastern shores of the Ijsselmeer whilst we enjoy our first workshop with Carol.

Casting off from Kampen before breakfast we cruise to the lively little port of Lelystad for our included excursion to the breathtaking Keukenhof gardens. With more than seven million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths, it’s a showcase of colour unlike anything you will have ever seen before.

We rejoin the ship in Amsterdam where we experience the true beauty of the capital city on our included canal cruise, which takes you around the 17th-century buildings and picturesque little bridges whilst we enjoy cheese and wine.

This morning we bid farewell to the captain, crew and fellow passengers and meet our driver and guide for a full day tour of Amsterdam. We’ll visit the highlights of the city, the former NDSM ship wharf, now an area popular with craftsmen and artists and a breeding ground for creative talent. We'll also take in the picturesque ‘De 9 straatjes’ area, full of boutique shops, and visit some of the city’s best-known yarn shops. Late afternoon we’ll transfer to our hotel, our base for the next 3 nights.

Enjoy two full-day workshops with Carol. On our final evening we’ll enjoy an included 3-course dinner at the hotel.

We bid farewell to our fellow knitters and crocheters and transfer to Amsterdam airport for our return flight to London.
