Join us as we commemorate the 80th Anniversary of Operation Jubilee, better known as the Dieppe Raid, an Allied amphibious attack on the German-occupied port of Dieppe during WWII. Supported by a naval force of 237 warships and 66 RAF fighter squadrons, the aim of over 6000 Canadian and British troops was to seize a major port and test the German defences on the Atlantic wall, however, a series of disastrous attacks resulted in extremely heavy casualties as well as the loss of a naval destroyer, 33 landing craft and 106 aircraft forcing the operation to be abandoned. During this special anniversary tour to Northern France we will pay our respects as we look back on the events of the 19th August 1942 and also discover how the lessons of this failed raid impacted the D Day landings a couple of years later.
