Hurst Johnian Club Battlefields and Wargraves of Ypres and The Somme

Believed by many to be ‘The War to End All Wars’, the Great War of 1914 – 1918 was one of the most significant conflicts of the 20th century. Thanks to new military technologies and the horrors of trench warfare, the levels of carnage and destruction were unprecedented. By the time the war was over and Allied powers claimed victory, more than 16 million people – soldiers and civilians alike – were dead. Ultimately it was Germany’s inability to defeat Allied forces fighting in France and Flanders that determined the war’s outcome.
This OJ Club tour is accompanied by OJ Historian Emeritus Roger Moulton and led by renowned military historian John Ross. Together we’ll honour the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought and died on the bloodiest of battlefields along the Western Front.
