We journey aboard Eurostar from London St. Pancras International to Paris and continue by connecting rail to Annecy, where we are transferred by coach to our hotel in Saint Gervais les Bains.

Enjoy a leisurely day relaxing at the hotel or exploring our resort. Our hotel is situated in the typical alpine village of Saint Gervais les Bains ideally located at the foot of Mont Blanc and is just a 10-minute walk from the heart of the pretty village where you’ll find shops, bars and restaurants. We include a 3-course lunch at the hotel today plus an evening meal tonight.

Today, we join the Mont Blanc Express for a scenic railway journey to Chamonix. This famous resort sits 1,035 metres above sea level in the shadow of Mont Blanc and is surrounded by stunning glaciers, snow-capped peaks and lush green meadows. We have plenty of time to admire the views before taking the Montenvers rack railway, which climbs to 1,913 metres through forests, tunnels and over viaducts, before opening up to a stunning panorama with the Mer de Glace below. There are shops, bars, restaurants, and a fascinating ice cave – bring your camera and capture a day of spectacular views! We return to the hotel by coach and enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

Today, we transfer by coach to Lake Annecy, where you'll have the day to explore at leisure. The combination of narrow traffic-free streets, delightful bridges, and colourful houses bedecked with flowers make it a wonderful place to explore. Be sure to visit the Palais de I’Isle, the 13th-century Château d’Annecy, and the popular picnic spot of Champs de Mars where you can cross Lovers’ Bridge and walk along the lake edge to a public garden and a beach. The lake itself is full of life – why not take a boat trip and admire some of the most crystal-clear waters in Europe?

We return to the hotel by coach and enjoy dinner at the hotel this evening.

The morning is free to relax at the hotel or explore the local market where you can pick up some fresh local produce. This afternoon, we travel by coach to the thermal spa town of Aix-les-Baines, which is positioned on the edge of France’s largest freshwater Lake Bourget. Aix-les-Baines is one of Europe’s most fashionable destinations, offering fantastic sandy beaches, a relaxed shopping experience and excellent restaurants serving delectable local cuisine. Discover well-known sights such as the Roman ruin, Temple of Diana, and the Belle Époque Château de la Roche du Roi.

We return to the hotel by coach, enjoying our final meal this evening.

We leave our peaceful retreat behind and travel by back to Paris by connecting trains, where we join the Eurostar for the return journey back to London St. Pancras International.
