Bridge, Vineyards & Venetian Villa

Fly from Gatwick or Manchester to Venice Marco Polo and transfer to the Villa Pace Park Hotel Bolognese. Dinner and evening bridge.

Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break, and, in addition to playing bridge, we try to include interesting bridge seminars, hosted by your EBU-qualified director.

Your duplicate bridge will be available every evening between 7:45pm and 11:15pm. We endeavour to vary these evening sessions, balancing between teams and pairs and featuring at least one Swiss event during a two-week break.

Bridge will also be offered some afternoons between 2:30pm and 4:45pm. These sessions are normally given over to open pairs/teams. On UK holidays, bridge sessions may take place in the mornings instead of the afternoons, complimenting any included excursion programme.

Masterpoints are awarded on evening bridge sessions, and on day sessions with over 5 tables.

During your bridge holiday, nothing is obligatory, and you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. We don’t forget you are on holiday and our bridge programmes also allow time to relax, giving the opportunity for you to explore the surrounding area.

On day 4, travel by coach to Bassano del Grappa, the most famous town in Vicenza. Visit the historical wooden bridge, the Ponte Vecchio, spanning the Brenta River at its narrowest point. It was here during the First World War, that Italian troops passed over this bridge to defend the territories. The views of the town and mountains are breathtaking. There will be free time for sightseeing and shopping – Bassano del Grappa is famous for its pottery. We complete our day out with a visit to the Nardini Distillery, where we have a guided tour and an opportunity to taste the distilleries iconic Grappa products.

On day 6, our afternoon tour takes us to the vineyards 47 Anno Domini where we will have an opportunity to learn all about prosecco through the senses. Our Sommelier will guide us through its cellars, and we will taste different prosecco and cabinet Argille, accompanied by cheese and cured meats of the region.

Depart the hotel after breakfast for the return transfer to Venice Marco Polo airport and flight back to the UK.
