Dom is a professional bridge player and coach. He learnt to play bridge when he was a young boy watching his parents play with his auntie and uncle. It wasn't until Dom was around 19 or 20 before he actually started to play bridge for himself, and it was odd because as a child he had been absorbing all of the rules and techniques, so he knew how to play, but he didn't realise that he did!
After going through three years’ worth of lessons in only three weeks, Dom decided to just start playing at his local club in Sheffield. A few months later, he was spotted by an England scout when playing one evening at Sheffield Bridge Club and was invited to train with the England u26 squad. Fast forward a few years, after playing in various tournaments for Sheffield, Yorkshire and England juniors, Dom decided to make bridge his career, rather than just his hobby. Dom’s lessons started in 2016, and ever since then, he has never looked back.
