Alluring visitors with its sun-kissed sands, ancient heritage and culinary delights, Cyprus is the place where Mediterranean dreams come true.
Nicosia, also known as Lefkosia, holds the distinction of being the world’s last divided capital, with the so-called Green Line slicing the city in two. The southern half belongs to the Republic of Cyprus, and the northern area to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, yet, despite the political tensions, the city is exceptionally friendly, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms by the locals. One of the city’s most defining features are the geometrically perfect Venetian walls, which are fortified by eleven heart-shaped bastions and a protective dry moat. Inside the walls, a labyrinth of narrow streets hides old-fashioned craft shops, culturally rich museums, and religious buildings boasting elegant architecture.
Remarkably remote, breathtakingly unspoilt, and famous for its wild donkeys that roam freely, the Karpas Peninsula lies in the northeast of the island. Pristine beaches are peppered with green and logger-head turtles, rare species of plant-life flourish, and miles of rugged coastline result in some of the most stunning scenery Cyprus has on offer.
