The four star H10 Tenerife Playa hotel really does hold the prime position in Puerto de la Cruz - right on the sea front promenade surrounded by sea and facing the famous Lago Martianez, designed by the Canarian architect Cesar Manrique. Shops, restaurant, cafes, bars and local buses are all within the immediate area of the hotel. It is so easy to get out and about!

This lovely hotel is much smaller and more compact than its sister hotel in Lanzarote, that many of our guests are already acquainted with. The atmosphere is more relaxed and low key, and it has plenty of lovely, quiet lounges where our guests can sit and relax during the day or after bridge. It is very appealing to the age group of our bridge guests.

Most importantly we have a lovely bridge room leading to a large outdoor terrace area.

If you wish to sunbathe during the day you will find two outdoor pools (one heated) and sunbeds, and a Jacuzzi in the hotel gardens.

Unlike many purpose built resorts in the south, elegant Puerto de la Cruz still retains much charm and character within its typical colourful, Canarian buildings, and its old harbour with its 17th century custom house overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Its close proximity to Teide National Park and its easy accessibility make this town a great base to explore the island. Keen gardeners will enjoy strolling through its botanical gardens, full of vivid plants and flowers from all over the world and situated just short distance from our hotel.

During your duplicate bridge holidays nothing is obligatory, you can play in as many or as few bridge sessions as you wish. Our bridge programmes will vary according to the length of your break and in addition to playing bridge, we will always endeavour to provide a minimum of two bridge seminars for breaks of 7 days or more.

All of our bridge holidays include bridge seminars with handouts in addition to a varied and interesting duplicate bridge programme. We use duplimated boards every evening to ensure fairness and consistency. Bridge hand records are provided, as well as bridge partners if needed.

Your duplicate bridge will usually be available twice daily, at 2.30pm and 7.45pm. The afternoon sessions usually finish between 4.45pm and 5pm, the evenings between 10.45pm - 11.15pm. The afternoons are normally given over to open pairs/teams. We endeavour to vary the evening sessions, with a balance between teams and pairs, with at least one Swiss style event during a two-week bridge break.

During all evening sessions, we utilise a duplimate machine, which means we are able to produce hand record sheets at the end of the session and when we have two or more sections, both can play the same hands. On our UK duplicate bridge breaks, provided numbers allow, we usually will lay on an "Early Bird" afternoon session on the day of arrival.

We don’t forget you are on holiday, our bridge programmes allow time for relaxation plus giving you plenty of opportunity to explore the surrounding area and relax.
