From dramatic white cliffs and spectacular coastal walking trails, to picture-postcard villages and traditional seaside resorts, it’s no wonder the Isle of Wight is known as one of the jewels in England’s crown. With a beautifully mild climate and some of the UK’s most beautiful scenery, the Island is just a short ferry journey from the South coast of England, making it the perfect destination for a summer staycation.
We’ll be staying in the heart of the traditional British seaside resort, Sandown, at the lovely Trouville Hotel. Located on the seafront with sweeping views across Sandown and Shanklin Bay, it’s the ideal spot to relax and unwind, or to explore the popular pier and a wide range of nearby shops, cafes, restaurants and tourist facilities. Getting around the island is so simple; the hotel reception can provide you with a bus timetable, or the railway station is just 10 minutes away.
As England’s largest island, the island also boasts over 60 miles of fantastic coastline, half of which is in Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Visit the Needles with its 3 huge chalk rocks and take the cable car down to Alum Bay to collect the coloured sands. Visit Cowes, which is home to the oldest and biggest sailing regatta in the world. Or take some time to stroll around some of the picturesque villages; Godshill with its thatched cottages, architecture and winding street full of tea rooms, or Bembridge Village - a beautiful coastal village which won the Village of the Year in BBC countryfile Magazine awards 2019.
Situated centrally on Sandown’s seafront the Trouville Hotel is the ideal location for a holiday on the delightful Isle of Wight. Highly rated on Trip Adviser, as 2nd out of 26 hotels in Sandown and given a certificate of excellence, the Trouville Hotel has a well-deserved reputation for continually delivering high standards in service and hospitality.
